Low-fat Machacado Omelette

For those who are looking for an omellete that is on the lighter side, this yolk-free recipe is just right! It is very simple to make- there is no need to worry about the hassle of flipping the omelette and making a mess! The recipe is not only convenient, it is delicious and packed with more protein than your traditional omelette!

Ingredients

Original recipe yields 4 servings

Ingredient Checklist
  • 4 oz Alamo Sun Dried Beed Machacado
  • ¼  white onion, finely chopped
  • ½ bell pepper (or 1 jalapeño for spicy flavor) finely chopped 
  • 1 tomato finely chopped
  • 4 oz egg whites 
  • Vegetable oil 

Directions

Step 1 Turn on stove to medium heat and place 2 tablespoons of vegetable oil on medium/large pan. 

Step 2 Add chopped onion and allow to soften. Add chopped bell (or jalapeño) peppers and allow to soften.  

Step 3 Add both chopped tomato and Alamo Sun Dried Beef Machacado to the pan and allow the meat to brown.

Step 4 Add the egg white to the pan. There is no need to stir! Once the egg whites are cooked, slide the omellete onto your plate and enjoy!
